Quick Overview

Material: Diethylene glycol (DEG)
Burning Time: ± 4 to ± 6 hours
Pack Quantity: 2
Product Code: 193761
The wick can contains 100% diethylene glycol.
Burns completely.
The special wick ensures the correct temperature and burning time.
The can does not overheat, so a fuel holder is not required.
Consistent temperature and flame height throughout the entire burning process.
The special lid allows the same can to be reused, stored and transported safely.
Burns without soot or odour.
This fuel is made from pure diethylene glycol (DEG), which is also used as antifreeze in vehicle radiators.
Using a wick allows DEG to be vaporised and burned despite its relatively high flash point of 143 °C.
The burning time of the can is inversely proportional to the flame intensity, which can be adjusted by changing the exposed height of the wick.
Use: place the can directly beneath a chafing dish or another heating appliance suitable for use with an open liquid-fuel flame.
Burning time: ± 4 hours for 145 g cans and ± 6 hours for 198 g and 200 g cans.
Heat output: approximately 50% of that produced by ethanol-based burning gel.
Advantages compared with burning gel:
- Safer to use. No hazardous refilling. The flame is more visible and predictable.
- The cans remain cool enough to touch safely. They can be used without a fuel holder.
- Safer in the event of an accident. Any spillage will be minimal and difficult to ignite.
- Easy to reseal and reuse.
- Easy to extinguish by blowing out the flame or replacing the lid.
- The cost per burning hour is comparable to ethanol-based burning gel.
- Less intense flame. Reduces the risk of chafing-dish water pans boiling dry.
WARNING:
Diethylene glycol is a hazardous irritant.
Always wash your hands after skin contact with the liquid. If possible, wear latex gloves when adjusting the wick height.
The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available on the website. We recommend printing a copy and keeping it nearby.
